Adjusting your career path as the higher education landscape evolves: an informal lunch and conversation about how women at Clemson continue to adapt to the legacy effects of the COVID-19 pandemic

To foster community among women at Clemson, the Commission on Women, the Women's Leadership Program and the Office of Faculty ADVANCEment invite faculty, staff and students to lunch and conversation on Thursday, February 22, in Cooper Library 309, 11:30-1PM. Our conversation will focus on both the temporary and permanent changes to the higher education landscape resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and how we can support and advance issues impacting women at Clemson. Lunch will be provided by the Women’s Leadership Program.

Research has shown that the COVID-19 experience and its legacy effects have disproportionately impacted women in all facets of university life, including women at Clemson. Issues have ranged from increased caregiving demands to postponed or cancelled research and scholarship activities, impeded career advancement opportunities, and challenges to work-life balance as well as mental and physical health and wellness. This lunch provides an opportunity for women at Clemson to share their experiences, including successful strategies they have used to advance their professional goals in the years since the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Faculty, staff and students at all stages will find this conversation useful and supportive as the higher education landscape will continue to evolve in response to other environmental, sociopolitical, and technological disruptors.

Please RSVP by February 16 using this link. If you are not able to attend for the full time, please come anytime between 11:30-1:00p on February 22.
