Join us for a winter pontoon birding adventure on January 16 at the home of Kyle Anderson in Anderson, SC on beautiful Hartwell Lake. Meet at the location beginning at 10:00 am. Contact the Emeritus College for the address. Hartwell can be a rewarding experience this time of year as Bald Eagles, Bonaparte’s Gulls, Pied-billed Grebes, Common Loons and other wintering birds use the lake for feeding. Land birding at Kyle’s lakehouse can also produce winter sparrows, Cedar waxwings, Yellow-rumped and Orange-crowned warblers. Also, this is a great area to see Ruby-crowned and Golden-crowned kinglets. Dress warmly in layers, bring binoculars, sunglasses and a snack.
