Drawing is often the first step every burgeoning artist takes in their practice. Whether they want to focus on photography or sculpture, most art students will first navigate drawing courses to understand composition, form, and design. Drawing not only acts as a foundational tool, but also as a medium of endless possibility in which one can investigate their outer and inner surroundings through exploratory mark-making. This medium's searching, vulnerable nature should be acknowledged and celebrated at all stages of artistic development. Lee Gallery applauds the excellent work created by undergraduate students across the region committing to this limitless process and medium. The exhibition builds camaraderie within the regional artistic community, embracing the growth of upcoming artists, all while allowing undergraduate students to showcase their work professionally and with our local community.
