$6 Add to calendarThis project is open to youth ages 5-18 in Chester, Lancaster, and York counties. 4-H Membership is not required. The 4-H Tomato Project will begin in May, when youth will receive two varieties of locally grown tomato transplants (6 plants total, 3 of each variety) and information on how to take care of them. The 2024 project varieties are Early Goliath and Sunrise Sauce. Tomatoes can be planted in the ground/garden or in containers. Youth will have several months to care for their tomato plants and an in-person county judging will take place on Thursday, July 25th at 6:00 PM in each county. Winners from the county judging will be judged regionally on Friday, July 26th.
