Come and take part in scholar Sarah Le Pichon’s workshop on trauma-informed teaching. This is not reserved to faculty members: we are hoping to foster a campus-wide discussion on the topic, and students are a vital part of that conversation! Trauma-informed care has principally been implemented into areas that directly address trauma survivors, such as shelters and clinical services. However, trauma-informed practices are increasingly being implemented into other disciplines as knowledge of the prevalence and impact of trauma increases. This workshop presents an overview of the effects of trauma and risks of re-traumatization in the higher-education classroom. The workshop is participatory and includes discussion topics and various classroom scenarios to think through together.

We will have coffee and doughnuts.
