"Moving from Deficits to Possibilities: Supporting Growth and Success in STEM"
Dr. Beronda L. Montgomery will visit campus to give a keynote address as part of the Clemson University Graduate Research and Discovery Symposium (GRADS) held on March 30-31 in the Watt Center. Dr. Montgomery, Michigan State University Foundation Professor in Biochemisty & Molecular Biology and Microbiology and Molecular Genetics is a noted researcher in plant genomics. Montgomery also conducts scholarship and training initiatives on mentoring, particularly around issues relating to mentoring and retaining students and junior scientists from underrepresented backgrounds. She has published extensively on evidence-based strategies to nurture and retain talent in academia, developing strategies for effective mentorship that center on the individual and their specific needs and goals.
