Join us as we kick off Cybersecurity Awareness Month in October with a talk on The Cybersecurity Landscape from Charles Carmakal and Joseph Rood of FireEye!

Learn about real-world cases of cyber attacks, theft, extortion, destruction and public sharing. This talk is open to all students, faculty and staff.

Carmakal is FireEye’s Strategic Services CTO and one of the company’s leading incident response experts. Charles has 19 years of experience helping organizations become more resilient to cyber attacks, including significant experience helping Fortune 500 organizations build and enhance security programs to combat advanced attacks. He received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Decision and Information Sciences from the University of Florida.

Rood is the director of Mandiant, a FireEye company. His career spans more than a decade in cybersecurity and information technology services, with companies like Mandiant, Richard S. Carson & Associates, and KPMG, LLP. He received a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a focus on Computer Security from Towson University.
