Sustainable Packaging Design Workshop - Online

Hosted online September 23-24, this workshop is a packaging primer that describes the role of designing for sustainability in a circular economy. The course, split into four, one-hour sessions across two days, will take a holistic approach to packaging, starting with the basics of packaging materials, why packaging matters, drivers of sustainability, current end-of-life scenarios and the opportunities of a total life-cycle design process.

Session One (11:30 AM EST): Why do we have packaging? Presented by Dr. Duncan Darby.

Session Two (2:00 PM EST): Environmental impact of packaging. Presented by Dr. Heather Batt.

September 24

Session Three (11:30 AM EST): Packaging end-of-life. Presented by Dr. Heather Batt. 

Session Four (2:00 PM EST): Influence of sustainable messaging on consumer decisions. Presented by Dr. Andrew Hurley.
