Are you interested in learning about honey bees and beekeeping but not sure if you want to make the investment yet? Perhaps you are looking for an opportunity to work with honey bees while you are at Clemson and learn about Clemson’s beekeeping programs.

IF SO, JOIN US FOR THE ANNUAL SPRING HIVE DIVE!

The SPRING HIVE DIVE is an informal day in the bee yard with the coordinator of Clemson’s Apiculture and Pollinator Program. This immersive experience will give students an opportunity to learn about honey bee biology and management as we work the hives at the Clemson Insectary and Bee Yard. No matter your level of comfort and experience, we have you covered... literally! The program will provide all protective gear and equipment and will provide instruction on how to handle honey bees safely. The program coordinator, Ben Powell, will be joined by experienced beekeeper volunteers that will work closely with participants to provide exceptional instruction and guidance. We understand everyone has a busy schedule, so participants are welcome to join us for as little or as long as they like. The bee yard will be open from 12 noon to 5 PM.

The program is free of charge, but space and equipment are limited. Also, refreshments will be provided. We ask for participants register by April 15th, 2024.
