Understanding plant communities is a big aid to learning local plant species. Factors such as elevation, aspect, slope, rainfall and temperature all affect the plants found in a given location. Lake Jocassee provides easy access to many of the plant communities found in the Jocassee Gorges, including some quite unexpected! Join Kay Wade to learn about these communities and explore them from the lake. Prerequisite: Basic Botany.

Participants are required to adhere to Clemson’s Covid Policy at the time of the class. A classroom introduction will be followed by field work.
