Daljit Singh Dhillon is Assistant Professor of Visual Computing with the School of Computing at Clemson University.
He will be presenting his recent research work on rendering natural quasi-periodic volumetric photonic structures for computer graphics applications.
The presentation will be centered around a real-world case study thoroughly examined by the biologists at the University of Geneva.
Dr. Dhillon's research work focuses on adapting those scientifically established principles to devise a simple image processing-based method to work directly with Atomic Force Microscopic (AFM) scans of the nanostructures to produce photorealistic renderings.
