School Gardening for SC Educators

School Gardening for SC Educators is a program designed to help South Carolina educators create successful school garden classrooms!

Participants in this course will receive garden-based training developed by Clemson Extension Horticulture and 4-H Youth Development agents.

Teams of three (3) are encouraged to take this course together to build sustainability for their school garden program.

This is a five week asynchronous online course that begins February 3rd, 2020, and continues through March 6th, 2020, with a final hands-on workshop planned for March 12th, 2020,  at the SC State Farmers Market Philips Market Center 10am-3pm.

South Carolina licensed teachers will receive 20 SCDE pre-approved renewal credits upon completion of this course. Attendance at the workshop is required to receive credits.

Each participant will receive The Garden STEM Curriculum for Your Garden Classroom (K-8) , a 600-page standards-based curriculum and a copy of the regionally specific Seasonal Planting Guide and Calendar for School Gardens.  Books will be shipped as orders are placed, and mailed no later than January 31st.

There are currently no funds available to provide school garden kits and materials however, schools that wish to purchase a school garden kit may choose to do so at the end of the course.

Deadline to register is January 27th, 2020, or until class is full.
