Abstract: Luminous and ultra-luminous infrared galaxies (LIRGs and ULIRGs) are one of the best local laboratories to study physics at an extreme regime, potentially helping us understand similar processes happening in the early universe where high physical resolution observations are hard to achieve

 

Bio: Dr. Loreto Barcos-Munoz is a radio astronomer working for the National Radio Astronomy Observatory in Charlottesville, VA.
