Woo is an expert in the craft of non-fiction writing and the author of The Great Divorce: A Nineteenth-Century Mother’s Extraordinary Fight Against Her Husband, the Shakers, and Her Times (2010). Her biography of William and Ellen Craft, Master Slave Husband Wife: An Epic Journey from Slavery to Freedom, won the 2024 Pulitzer Prize for Biography.
