"One Big Unhappy Family: Aristophanes’ Comic Critique of Communism"

Join us for a conversation with the CISC's Hayek Visiting Scholar,

Dr. Derek Duplessie, on Wednesday, February 17

from 5:30 - 6:15 pm EST over Zoom.

About the Event

In the Assembly of Women, the comic poet Aristophanes depicts a female-led revolution to redesign the political community on the model of the family. Through an analysis of this revolution and its aftermath, Dr. Derek Duplessie will consider the perils associated with the attempt to eliminate the distinction between private and public life.

There will be a Q&A during this event. Though audience members will have the chance to submit questions during the event, we encourage you to email your questions to us by February 16. Please submit questions

to: capitalism@clemson.edu.
