One of the joint efforts presented by ink companies and the National Association of Printing Ink Manufacturers (NAPIM) Technical Associate Members (TAMs) through the National Printing Ink Research Institute (NPIRI) is the summer Printing Ink Technology Course. Clemson University's Sonoco Institute of Packaging Design and Graphics will provide a state-of-the-art venue featuring excellent instructional resources in flexographic, lithographic, gravure and digital printing, as well as electronic ink development capabilities.
This is the only detailed course available that covers:
Where, how and why raw materials are used
Formulation, testing and application of printing inks linked to raw material characteristics.
First-hand exposure to printing presses
Expert instructors in printing ink will join this summer from Allnex, BASF, Cabot Corporation, Clemson University, IGT Testing Systems, INX, Joules Angstrom U.V. Printing Inks, Kershaw Instrumentation, Kustom Group, NAPIM, Printers' Service, Sun Chemical, Verso Paper and others.
