The National Institutes of Health implemented a new Data Management and Sharing Policy effective January 25, 2023. Data management plans must be submitted with any application that generates scientific data. Plans must 1) specify the methods or approaches/repositories that will be used for data sharing, 2) determine and budget for any costs related to data management and sharing, and 3)  describe how investigators will ensure compliance with the plan, if awarded.
