NDEAM Keynote- Speaker Advocacy, Rights, and Perspectives on Gender, Disability, and Intersectionality

Judy Heumann is a lifelong advocate for disability rights and is known as the “Mother of disability rights”.  Judy contracted polio as a child leading to her use of a wheelchair for her mobility. Judy faced discrimination as a young child which contributed to her advocacy role and working in collaboration with others to fight for their rights.
