The Lexington Forest Landowners Association will meet on Tuesday, February 20th at 6 p.m. at the County of Lexington Auxiliary Administration Building at 605 West Main Street, Room 112, Lexington, SC 29072.  The speaker for the evening will be Cam Crawford, President and CEO of the Forestry Association of South Carolina (FASC).   With growing concern over the impact of mill closures on forest management strategies for landowners and land managers, as well as potential new timber markets, representatives from South Carolina’s timber industry, state agencies, and the Forestry Association of South Carolina formed the South Carolina Forest Recovery Task Force. Cam will discuss how the task force will focus on increasing the capacity of wood consumption of existing forest product manufacturers in South Carolina and surrounding states, and attracting new wood product manufacturers to the state. He will also provide an update on the benefits that FASC provides South Carolina’s forest landowners through their legislative activities.

Dinner will be catered and will be $10 per person for members and $13 per person for non-members.  Please RSVP by Thursday, February 15th at Noon to Alivia Gunter by phone at 803-359-8515 or by email at aliviag@clemson.edu.
