LatinX: A Conversation Around Gender-Inclusive Language

The Commission on Latino Affairs is hosting a conversation with Ed Morales, author of Latinx: The New Force in American Politics and Culture, on the use of inclusive language.  Gender neutral terms like LatinX/e/@ provide an alternative by addressing the challenges of gendered languages.  However, cultural and grammatical linguistic devices make integration of gender-neutral constructs equally difficult.

Author and Journalist Ed Morales is a Lecturer at Columbia University’s Center for the Study of Ethnicity and Race and the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism.

Join us as we navigate these perceptual challenges in the search of a way forward.
