Ladies Engaged in Agricultural Development and Women Owning Woodlands Invasive Species Workshop and Field Tour

Ladies Engaged in Agricultural Development (LEAD) and Women Owning Woodlands (WOW) engage and educate women in stewardship of land by connecting them to resources, trusted professionals and a community of other women. This event will highlight invasive species control.

Trained professionals will teach attendees about pesticide basics, including safety, active ingredients and trade names. Identification and management methods for common woody plants, grasses and understory plants will be discussed.  An afternoon field tour will include several stops with hands-on demonstrations of sprayer set-up and calibration, herbicide application methods and mechanical control in different forest systems, as well as a demonstration of using grazing livestock for vegetation control.

This workshop has been approved for 5 CCH (CORE) for SC Pesticide Applicator Recertification.
