Introduction to Equine Management

The purpose of this course is to provide an introduction to the basics of equine management to those that may be involved in their routine care. The course will provide both classroom and hands-on, practical horse management techniques, essential whether you're a new horse owner, future stable manager, farm employee, groom, or are looking to expand your horse knowledge.  This course is recommended for those with 5 years or less of horse management experience.

This course is open to all adults and will cover topics relating to:

  • Welfare
  • Farm Management
  • Horse Nutrition
  • Horse Health​
  • ​​​​​​Practical Horse Skills:  safe handling, equine first aid, weighing and body condition scoring, feed tag inspection and analysis.

Approved by Certified Horsemanship Association for CE credit for recertification.
