"Initial Impressions: Selections from the Print Studio" is an exhibition of work by undergraduate art majors, B.A. and art minors enrolled in the Beginning Printmaking studio. The course was taught by Mandy Ferguson, Lecturer of Art, during the spring 2024 semester. This juried exhibit showcases works utilizing two printmaking processes, monotype and relief printing. The monotype prints were an open assignment focused on the student's interests and played with the one-off aspect of the monotype print process.
One relief print assignment invited the students to express aspects of their personality to create their likeness or bring other aspects of self into their final artistic expression using only black and white. For the second relief process, students interpreted the idea of "conflict" to create a colorful reduction woodcut.
