Farming is a business, and it can be a messy one. Family is involved, legacies are maintained and built upon, the weather is never doing what you want it to when you want, and consumers are further and further removed from the products farmers grow or raise. Risk management is how to clean up and manage the messes.

If you live in Horry or the surrounding counties, come join us for the first Farmer2Farmer Meet & Eat at the Horry County Extension Office on January 23 at 6:00 PM to meet other farmers in the area and talk about risks. Everyone will have the opportunity to share financial, legal, marketing, production, and people (or human resource) risks they need help managing.

Charley, the Area Agribusiness Agent, will take the input provided and come up with regular Meet & Eats where the topics will be tackled, one bite at a time, through conversations over meals.
