She has a joint appointment in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences Department of Genetics and the Center for Tropical and Emerging Global Diseases.

Tania Rozario is a developmental biologist turned parasitologist, who recently started her independent lab at the University of Georgia. She began resurrecting a forgotten model, the rat tapeworm Hymenolepis diminuta, while a postdoc in the Newmark lab at the Morgridge Institute for Research, Madison, WI. Tapeworms exhibit remarkable feats of growth, regenerative capacity, and prolific reproduction.
