He started his career in the pharmaceutical industry where he worked on viral vaccines for three years at the Immune Response Corporation. He also worked on the development of different monoclonal antibodies therapies at Johnson & Johnson. He returned to school at the University of South Carolina after several years in industry and earned his PhD in the Biomedical Sciences.
As a post-doctoral fellow at SC Cancer Center and Medical College of Georgia Cancer Center, he focused on cancer genetics and identified novel cancer genes in colorectal and breast cancers. In his current position as a tenured associate professor at PCSP, he has developed several core courses in the pharmacy program including Medical Immunology, Biotechnologies Laboratory, and Pharmacogenomics.
