This is one of four field tours where a presentation will provide an overview of current Best Management Practices in South Carolina and their importance to protect water quality. Ongoing research at Clemson University has found a large number of invasive plant species being recommended in BMP manuals across the southeastern US for soil stabilization purposes. This presentation will highlight the impact invasive plant species can have on the environment but also showcase alternative vegetation choices to stabilize soils.
