While in-person summer camps have been cancelled, Florence County 4-H is providing at-home "Cooking Like a Chef" camp kits to students in Florence County between the ages of 8-14. Kits include a recipe book, ingredient and materials list, cutting board, measuring cups, cheese cloth, yeast and video instruction. The kits are available for youth ages 8-14 who will be preparing the recipes under adult supervision. The kits are FREE, thanks to a Healthy Habits Grant from Wal-Mart, and campers can earn prize packs for completing recipes and a program evaluation. While the camp is free of charge, each camper MUST complete the evaluation survey. The camp kit is to be completed at your own pace between July 20 and August 14. Instructional videos will be available. Kits can be picked up from outside the Florence County Extension Office on July 20 from 9am - 4:45pm or can be shipped for a cost of $15. Healthy recipes for both snacks and entrees are included. Each camper must provide their own recipe ingredients and cooking tools other than the ones included in the kit pictured below.
