Please join us for Field Day 2022 at the Pee Dee REC!
Field Day will be in person this year! You will spend the morning learning about the research conducted at the center while being toured around the station. You will also have the opportunity to meet our faculty and ask questions regarding their research!
Topics this year include:
• Anthracnose resistance in sorghum
• Apiculture and pollination in farm management
• Transgenic Bt corn research in SC
• Crop diversity and improvement
• Cotton variety trials
• Forestry
• Sorghum breeding for increased yields
• New whitefly and spider-mite resistant tomato lines
• Molecular breeding at the Pee Dee REC
• An update on Meloidogyne enterolobii in SC
• Cover crops and soil health
• Reducing nitrogen losses in row crops
• Chicken litter rates to maximize soybean yields
• An update from the Pee Dee cotton breeding program
• Vegetable and butter bean breeding
Field Day is geared towards growers, producers, and agricultural researchers in South Carolina. However, the general public is also welcome to attend.
This is an outdoor event, please plan accordingly (light clothing, comfortable shoes, sunscreen, bug sprays, etc.)
Admission is free, and lunch will be provided.
