Fall means MUSIC at your SCBG! We are excited to announce two musical options this fall! Tuesdays Tunes & Tastings will take place on the Lower Lawn behind the Visitor's Center and is proudly sponsored by Carolina Bauernhaus. The Fall Concert Series will take place in the Amphitheater and concessions will again be provided by Palmetto's Smokehouse and Oyster Bar, which will begin to be sold approximately half an hour before the concert. We are thrilled that so many wonderful musicians are willing to donate their time and immense talent to provide entertainment for the community and we cannot thank them enough. See you soon!
The Haitian Children's Choir was born from tragedy. All but five of these children lost everything in the earthquake of 2010. Most of them lost their complete families that day. They found their way to the home of the Pauls, who were music teachers.
The Pauls never intended on having an orphanage, but, out of necessity, LifeSaver Orphanage was born. The Pauls have truly been life-savers for these children. They don't have much, but what they do have, they have given, and keep giving, to these children. They make up one of the happiest families there is!
Last Summer, the LHLT Haitian Orphan Choir toured the United States from July to September and was well-received by churches, community organizations, corporations and even professional sporting events. Funds raised during the tour helped to support children in Haiti, Ukraine and the United States.
The Haitian Orphan Choir returned to the United States in the summer of 2017, set to perform from July through September in the Southeast and beyond. On September 22, 2017, the choir will perform at the South Carolina Botanical Garden's amphitheater as part of a fundraiser for the LHLT's cause. These talented children range in age from five to 16 and will be singing some of your favorite songs in five different languages, including English, Creole and Spanish. Filled with dancing and interaction with the audience, there will be something for every member of the family. To futher support these amazing children, we encourage you to bring gently-used shoes to donate. Through Funds2Orgs, the shoes will be distributed to developing nations around the world, where micro-entrepreneurs will use them to develop businesses of their own. Join us for an amazing evening of music, celebration and multi-cultural fun!
