External Influences and Internal Construction of Self: An Art Exhibit by MFA Graduate Serra Shuford

The Emery A. Gunnin Architecture Library is pleased to present “External Influences and Internal Construction of Self” a solo exhibition of paintings  featuring Clemson Master of Fine Arts Candidate, Serra Shuford. Through her work, Serra investigates the human tendency to ascribe emotion into textiles and other materials as a result of fetishizing physical objects. This exhibition of work focuses on the relationship between physical objects, often overbearing and sometimes vanishing in their physical state, and the spiritual and nostalgic impression that these objects leave in the mind. Shuford’s work will be on display November 15, 2019-February 15, 2020 and FREE to the public. 2-112 Lee Hall, Clemson University. 8:00 A.M.- 4:00 P.M. M-F.
