June 29, 2021 (Tuesday) 10:00am – 11:30amEmeritus College Outing:  Tour of the Historic Ashtabula House, Pendleton, SC:  This 10-acre historic site includes the main house (c.1825) built by Lewis Ladson Gibbes & wife Maria Drayton Gibbes, and a detached brick building (c.1790) one of earliest licensed taverns in the SC Upcountry. Ashtabula is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a site on the SC National Heritage Corridor. Click HERE for additional historical information about the house. Ashtabula is a charming two-story clapboard house (c.1825) situated on ten acres of open ground and located approximately three miles east of Pendleton on SC Highway 88. Get Turn-by-Turn Directions to Ashtabula (2725 Old Greenville Highway, Pendleton, SC 29670).  The cost of the tour is $5 per person payable the day of the event.
