Clemson University

Emeritus College Online Presentation with Dr. James Brannan

August 20 (Thursday) 10:00am – 11:30am, Online Seminar: China: Wow! It’s quite a place with Dr. James Brannan, Professor Emeritus of Mathematical Sciences: Each year from 2016 to 2019 Professor Emeritus James Brannan was a visitor at the Center for Mathematical Sciences, Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, China. During these visits Professor Brannan gave short courses in applied mathematics to the graduate students while his wife Cheryl taught spoken English to the students and was a part-time assistant at a Montessori school in Wuhan. With Wuhan serving as a base, Cheryl and Jim were able to travel to several different regions in China during these visits. Using pictures and video clips, Professor Brannan will give a bird’s eye view of China (its people, culture, food, historical sites, and its natural beauty) based on their personal experiences.
