September 30, 2021 (Thursday) 10:00am - 11:00am, ONLINE Interest Group: Memoir Writing with Marty Duckenfield: This week, we will continue to share our various memoir efforts, enjoying each other's stories and finding some of our own unexpected memories resurfacing in the conversations. In your memoir writing, do you wish to take your identified readers back in time with you so they can also see what's in your mind's eye? How can you do this? To answer that question, we will talk about specific approaches you might take for conveying the scene you can see in your memory to your family, friends, and others through your writing. Describing a parent or other relative or friend, perhaps a family homestead, a hometown, a school or a classroom, an outdoor setting... all of these add richness to the telling of the story. What are some ideas of how to do this and make it part of the telling? Bring your own questions and ideas to our next meeting! And, as always, we wholeheartedly welcome those new to our interest group, whether just contemplating doing some memoir writing or those well on their way!
Please contact Nicci Hanewald at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or if you would like information about joining the presentation virtually.
