EC Online Presentation with Dr. Jim Palmer

June 16 (Tuesday) 10:00am – 11:30am, Online Presentation:  Glyphosate and GMO’s:  Science-based progress vs. human health dangers with Dr. Jim Palmer, Professor Emeritus of Agronomy and Soils:  Glyphosate (e.g., Roundup) is the most popular herbicide in the world, while GMO’s (genetically modified organisms, e.g., soybeans, cotton and corn) are widely grown and are a significant reason many developing countries currently provide adequate food and/or fiber for their people.  However, there has been some recent research that questions glyphosate’s safety for humans, although both US and foreign agencies have stated that it continues to be safe if applied according to the label.  This seminar with explore both the use of GMO’s and glyphosate, along with reports of implications for human health.
