We are seeking a group of dedicated and outgoing volunteers to enhance the visitor experience at the South Carolina Botanical Garden. We are offering two training days, focusing on docent needs for adult and youth audiences separately. 
*Volunteering as an SCBG docent counts towards Master Gardener and Master Naturalist hours. Volunteers are eligible for various benefits.

*Participants are required to adhere to Clemson’s Covid Policy at the time of the class.

Wednesday, January 26
Adult Tour Guides & Garden Ambassadors:
This training will cover the steps to becoming both a Garden Ambassador and a Tour Guide for adult groups. Garden Ambassadors will greet, orient, and provide seasonal information to weekend visitors. Potential Guides and Ambassadors will be equipped with information about the SCBG's history, mission, garden spaces and features, as well as techniques for communicating effectively with Garden visitors.

Thursday, January 27
School Tour Guides & Youth Program Docents:
Do you like interacting with children? Do you have an interest in plants or nature in general? This is the volunteer opportunity for you! This training will familiarize attendees with our school tour programs and other youth program volunteer opportunities. We’ll share the information and tools used to provide children with engaging, educational visits to the Garden.
