Speaker Amilcar Valencia, El Refugio

Amilcar Valencia is an immigration activist and executive director of El Refugio, a home that offers hospitality and facilitates visits for friends and families of immigrants detained in the Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia. His visit is organized by the members of “Stories of Refuge, Detention, and Hospitality,” a Clemson Creative Inquiry project.
