Social justice is not an isolated topic related to one particular discipline. Many times, it requires intersectionality among faculty and students across many disciplines. Whether it is through advancing racial equity, promoting sustainable and inclusive development, or addressing unequal access to basic services, social justice can be advanced beyond traditional departmental boundaries.

This workshop aims to assess the impact of data and visualization choices, increase awareness of the latest trends and practices, and promote collaboration opportunities across campus. Our main objective is to bring together researchers with different expertise to spark discussions and collaborations on advancing social justice in academia, organizations, communities, and society in general.

Featured speakers:

  • Dr. Rhondda Thomas, Calhoun Lemon Professor of Literature
  • Dr. Altheia Richardson, Assistant Vice President for Strategic Diversity Leadership
  • Alex Jensen, Ph.D. Candidate, Wildlife Biology
  • Dr. Amanda Regan, Assistant Professor, History
  • Dr. Shamella Cromartie, Associate Dean for Organizational Performance & Inclusion, Clemson Libraries

Please join us to learn more about the excellent social justice work currently being developed at Clemson and upcoming opportunities for collaboration. This workshop is free for any student, faculty, or staff at Clemson interested in equity and social justice.
