Controlling Uncertainty via Smart System Technology • Dr. Roland Platz, senior research fellow at Fraunhofer Institute for Structural Durability and System Reliability LBF, Darmstadt

Clemson University’s Glenn Department of Civil Engineering, in conjunction with the German Research Foundation DFG, is sponsoring a short course on Controlling Uncertainty via Smart System Technology.  The course is being offered by Dr. Roland Platz, a senior research fellow at Fraunhofer Institute for Structural Durability and System Reliability LBF, Darmstadt. This class is suitable for faculty, graduate and undergraduate students who are interested in state‐of‐the art methods to quantify and evaluate model uncertainty in structural dynamic systems. Participants should have a basic background and interest in structural dynamics.

This course is being offered from 3:00 – 5:00 pm on October 5, 7, 10 and 12, 2016. Participants will meet in room 307 of the Watt Family Innovation Center.
