CO-DREAM OER: Fostering Innovative Collaboration and Research on Open Educational Research Projects Through A Library Led Grant Project (Library Research Showcase)
In fall 2021 Clemson Libraries received a $760,000 grant from the Department of Education's Open Textbook Pilot Grant Program to develop 3 Open Educational Resource textbooks, interactive simulations and other learning materials on robotics in advanced manufacturing engineering for the 4 year undergraduate, technical college and graduate levels. This project is a Libraries led collaboration with the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences (CECAS), the Clemson Center for Workforce Development, as well as Tuskegee University, an Historic Black University in Alabama and Trident Technical College in Charleston, South Carolina to increase equity, diversity and inclusion in robotics education, an in-demand subject in both states through the development of free learning materials. It also includes a significant research element, which involves students from all three institutions taking part in the design of the materials as they are being made. The Libraries invites you to explore this innovative, multi-component project, and its contribution towards campus and regional collaboration in the development of educational materials and research on student learning through this presentation show case.
