Clemson Biological Sciences Annual Student Symposium (CBASS)

CBASS is a research symposium run by students forstudents. It is an annual conference that provides a low-pressure, professional atmosphere for Clemson undergrads, grads, and postdocs to present research related to the life sciences. Each year, students join from departments across campus to share scientific experiences, discoveries, and ambitions. Fellow students, faculty, staff, administration, and community members come to hear about the wide array of student research projects going on at Clemson.

Everyone—from postdocs and seasoned graduate researchers to young undergrads with budding ideas for research projects—is welcome to present at CBASS. Most of our presentations are on completed or ongoing research. But students have presented posters on ideas for projects, often using that as a way to look for an advisor to work with. CBASS provides the perfect opportunity to gain experience presenting one's work, no matter at what level a student may be.
