$50 per child per day (10% discount members) Add to calendarThe school year has more days off. What can kids do? Come to the S.C. Botanical Garden for Circular STEM Days! Kids will explore nature and discover its genius and inspiration. After seeing nature up-close in the garden, they will create and build things that eliminate waste and pollution, use materials in new ways, and regenerate nature. Program is designed for 3rd-8th graders. (We are no longer accepting new registrations from children below 3rd grade). Please register 2 days in advance of the desired program date.
Monday, October 14, 2024 - Suncatchers and Fireflies - Reuse composite materials to create a suncatcher that spreads light like fireflies do.
Monday, November 4, 2024 - Medicine from Bees - Create a medicine for humans from natural, safe, and renewable ingredients.
Monday, January 20, 2025 - Beaver's Homegrown Park - Using a habitat mosaic inspired by beavers, design a new type of park or backyard.
Friday, February 14, 2025 - Show Soils Some Love - Using materials from nature, create a model of soil diversity; then, create a 3D, interactive soil-saving slope replica.
Friday, March 14, 2025 - Glide to Safety - Inspired by plants and animals and using very few materials, create a way to keep people safe in a disaster.
Monday April 21, 2025 - Glide to Safety - Inspired by plants and animals and using very few materials, create a way to keep people safe in a disaster.
Note: The April 21 program is the same program as the March 14 program.
