Join representatives from the Clemson Extension FNR team, the US Forest Service, and the SC Forestry Commission for a day-long bus tour of the forest management practices implemented in the life cycle of a pine forest, from planting to forest maturity. 

Tour stops will include:

  • An active timber harvesting operation
  • 1-year-old artificially regenerated stand
  • Young forest stands approaching canopy closure
  • Stands ready to be thinned
  • Thinned and prescribed burned stands 

Throughout the tour, participants will also learn how these forestry practices protect and enhance non-timber resources.

Two locations will be available for participants to board the bus:

8:15 a.m.  Columbia, SC

9:00 a.m.   Newberry, SC

Registration includes lunch.
