Reading banned books leads to thoughtful debates and discussions, where people can encounter ideas that may differ from their own, articulate their thoughts, and defend their positions/consider opposing viewpoints. Reading these books promotes critical thinking!
The votes are in and Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye is the chosen book for this month. This book starts with a Prologue and is then broken up into 11 chapters that represent different seasons. This adds up to four (4) chapters per week with Zoom discussion meetings after each section. See below for the reading breakdown:
Prologue + Autumn (Ch. 1-3) - Zoom meeting on Sept. 16th @ 8PM
Winter (Ch. 4&5) + Spring (Ch. 6&7) - Zoom meeting on Sept. 23rd @ 8PM
Spring (Ch. 8&9) + Summer (Ch. 10&11) - Zoom meeting on Sept. 30th @8PM
