“At Home in the Garden” explores iconic and overlooked spaces, and seemingly permanent and ephemeral moments that evoke a sense of longing and search for at homeness in varied garden landscapes across the United States. Colorful imagery of blooming flowers and foliage abound, imbuing these landscapes with feelings of comfort and serenity. Throughout the series, however, there is a sense of isolation, instability, and a longing for something unknown. Part documentarian, part memento, this exhibition prompts viewers to rethink the role of gardens in contemporary society and in one’s own backyard.
