All Tigers Count: Off-campus students need to respond to the Census

The 2020 Census counts everyone in the United States, including ALL college students. College students are counted where they USUALLY lived on April 1, 2020, even if they were temporarily  elsewhere because of COVID-19.  2020 Census results will impact funding for critical college student programs.

  • If you usually live with your parents all year, they should include you when they respond to the census.
  • If you live in a dorm or college-owned Greek housing you don’t need to do anything except to tell your parents not to include you in their response.
  • But if you normally live in private housing (an apartment or house), alone or with others, you or one of your roommates  should respond for everyone living at your  address.
