The primary purpose of ACMAP is to promote and foster research, development, production, and conservation of medicinal, aromatic, and other bioactive plants useful to human health.

The following activities are currently envisioned in order to accomplish stated goals of this council pertaining to basic and applied research:

  • plant production
  • product development and evaluation
  • marketing to provide better healthcare products for healthy life for both human and animal population

The American Council for Medicinally Active Plants, Inc. is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes.

We have been granted tax exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and now qualify as a tax exempt entity and donations at this time are tax deductible.

ACMAP has an annual conference. Complementary membership comes with most registration, plus members pay no submission charges (limit 2 per year) in our online Journal of Medicinally Active Plants (JMAP(link is external)) which publishes peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary reviews and research papers.
