About this event
Welcome to the South Carolina 4-H Wildlife Food Plot Project!
This project runs from September 2021 through January 2022. It is a hands-on environmental education program and an independent-study project that allows youth (ages 5-18) an opportunity to establish, maintain, and observe a wildlife food plot. Youth learn concepts of wildlife conservation, plant identification, and habitat management and have the opportunity to put that knowledge into practice. The cost of the project is $18 per person for 4-H members. Youth will be provided with a record book and seed for approximately 1/8 acre. Prizes are awarded, based on the plot and record book performance, at the county, region, and state level.
Support for this project comes from National Deer Association and L. B. Wannamaker Seed Co.
If you are not currently a South Carolina 4-H member, you will be asked to join when you pick up your seed for the project.
The registration deadline for the Wildlife Food Plot Project is Friday, August 13, 2021.
