About this event

Join a regional site on August 14th for the 11th annual South Carolina 4-H Volunteer Leaders Symposium to Spark your "Why".

This year, we are hosting four regional sites for volunteers to gather and connect to a statewide audience. We will host a hands-on symposium in the morning ($5) to Spark your "Why" as volunteers and how you can set youth on a trajectory to thrive. Lunch will be on your own. An optional afternoon session (additional $5) will continue the connection and learning experience with your fellow 4-H volunteers in a fun and engaging way. Each site has a different afternoon session planned. You may choose your site based on your geography and/or desired afternoon session.

Regional locations:

  • Upstate - T. Ed Garrison Arena in Clemson, SC -  In the afternoon, come tour the Clemson University Pickens Bend Shooting Range, learn about 4-H Shooting Sports opportunities and ways to connect youth to your own clubs, and test your shot at the range.
  • Midlands Sandhill Research and Education Center in Columbia, SC  - Ever wonder how to kick off a meeting with ice breakers and get-to-know-you activities? Look no further! The afternoon will be spent around the grounds of the Sandhills REC learning how to make meetings more comfortable and fun for everyone.

The registration deadline for the SC 4-H Volunteer Leaders Symposium is Friday, August 6, 2021.

Social distancing and masking policies as determined by Clemson University at the time of the event will be followed.
