Watson-in-the-Watt Technology Workshop

AI-Powered Research and Education with IBM Watson

Most know of IBM Watson as the AI supercomputer that destroyed its human competitors on Jeopardy! back in 2011. Since that time, Watson technology has grown into a multifaceted AI platform with diverse industry applications, from healthcare to agriculture. In this workshop, researchers from Clemson University and North Carolina State University present their use of Watson in their research projects. Topics include:

  • Identification of unhealthy plants in UAV imagery
  • Diagnosing rare diseases
  • Improving lesion measurements from CT scans
  • Understanding the spread of antimicrobial resistance
  • Higher-efficiency training of seeing-eye dogs

In addition, the Watson Creative Inquiry team at Clemson will showcase the unique role that Creative Inquiry plays at the intersection between education, academic research and IBM Watson. The workshop will close with a focused consultation session where interested researchers can discuss their projects with experts from IBM.

This workshop is open to ALL faculty, staff and students at Clemson University. RSVP online at http://bit.ly/IBM_Watt_Workshop
